Selectivity loss in Fischer-Tropsch synthesis: The effect of cobalt carbide formation

Fischer-Tropsch cobalt catalyst deselectivation was studied using accelerated aging treatments dedicated to the carburization phenomenon. Cobalt carbide successfully obtained by CO treatments, with limited simultaneously carbon deposition nor sintering. Particle sizes were found influence sensitivity carburization, likely because of a possible core–shell mechanism. An important loss both activity and selectivity heavy products observed after making one potential mechanisms responsible for in synthesis. Side also impacted formation, an increase CO2 production decrease olefins. The extent directly dictate level shift.
